InkLink Chapter 1

Hi Everyone !

On Saturday 29th June, the InkLink team and I hosted our first ever event: Chapter 1 - tension building. We had been working hard for months leading up to this day, organising the venue, co-ordinating the programme and contacting authors to feature. We ended up having a fantastic panel of four authors; Holly Jukes, Dylan Dyer, Alexandra Claire and T.S. Reed, who all came armed with their published books (I was literally in awe) and a wealth of publishing knowledge. Our authors were a mix of self-published and traditionally published, which made for a super interesting and insightful panel and Q&A.

As a team, this was out first event and it of course didn’t go without a few hiccups but it overall went much better than we expected! Our audience was amazing, asking some fab questions - all of which the authors responded to with ease (they all knew what they were talking about - experts in their field I say). We then ended the event with a book signing and an opportunity to meet the authors and even take photos with them. The InkLink team, as well as some of the authors, then went out to a cool bar called Hocus Pocus, located by Kings Cross station, to have a well-deserved celebratory drink! I want to applaud my amazing team of girls who all really pulled out all the stops and without all their hard work and dedication, wouldn’t have had the fantastic day we had. I can’t wait for the next one!!
